If you search the archives for "Qimage" you'll find some old threads where I've described how I use it. Software versions have changed over the years, and the product is now packaged as "Qimage Ultimate" with a whack of Lightroom-esque editing features, virtually none of which I use. So what I've described previously for printing workflow is still pretty much how I use the app today.

Example thread that in turn links to other older threads:

If you have already a post processing flow editor that already have the functions you require for retouching, etc., and all you need are the printing functions you can still acquire QImage Pro (to get a soft image preview) and drive your printer with its color management system. While it is an end-of-life product you might find it easier to use. It still offers resizing, batch functions, multiple images per page, etc. It has very good resampling and sharpening algorithms for resizing.

If you want to edit images in QImage then get the Ultimate version.

http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/support.htm#faq has a comparison section. A feature comparison chart is here:
http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/features.htm Although it states retired for the older versions you can still get a trial copy and a purchase copy.

Only Ultimate will have support for improvements in adding RAW support as needed for new cameras.
