I've been printing with my 3880 that I bought new for a few weeks now and it's been working fine. Last night I was printing and half way through the print just stopped and I got a pop up on the screen saying "communication error". It's done this for 5 or 6 prints now. It seems like every other print I will get this communication error. I'm running CS5 and have all my software and drivers updated. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem?? It's extremely frustrating as I'm wasting a ton of ink and paper.

Try changing the USB port that its plugged into on the computer and the cable before doing anything else

When I have hasd this problem in the past, I have done two things
1. Change USB ports -
if this does not work
2. REboot the printer - either of these two has fixed my "communication error

Thanks for the replies. I actually went out and bought a new USB cable and changed the port it was running on and so far so good. Seems like quite a common problem. Strange how I could run so many prints through without any issues and then all of a sudden the cable/port cuts out. Oh well, hopefully this one last for a decent amount of time.
