...Hemingway wrote these lines, but I wonder if he ever witnessed one such as this.

Yellowstone...early morning.

Different and very nice. Just wondering why you don't post the original larger instead of providing a link to the larger image?

Thanks, Richard! The larger version is outside the size limit dictated by the rules of this site. So, I post a link to it instead.

Very cool lemony, limey image that invokes the feeling of morning in a magical place. I like it a lot. With the 16-35 mm lens, this image was made at about what focal length?

Another eerie post from you, Mahesh! The turquoise water and lemony sky look like they belong on another planet. Very cool and creative!

Thanks, Juli! The focal length was 31 mm. I cropped the image a bit to get the composition I wanted.

Thanks, Kelly! Yellowstone really does feel like a completely different world...especially during the golden hours when the mist rising from the hotsprings really give a dramatic effect.

Thanks, Dan! It's funny you should say that, because when I showed it to a very good friend of mine, she had the same exact response! I'll have to tell her that a great photographer agreed with her assessment. :-)

This is other-worldly. Nice contrast of hot (yellow upper portion) and cool (turquoise pools).

A lemon & lime sunrise! Nicely seen. Does look like a different planet. Like the small version but the large one does really sing. Only question is why you chose such a tight composition around the foreground pool? (A question, not a nit! :) )

Thanks, Rich...There were a few distracting things more in the forground and quite a bit of empty space and I didn't think they really contributed to the overall feel of the image...so I chopped 'em off :-)

This is an excellent shot. I plan on spending a week there next June and can only hope to get something this good!

E.J. Get up early enough (and I'm sure you will :-)), and you may see a sunrise like this...the clouds and mist have to be right, though...
