An image from a couple of years ago taken in White Sands Nat'l Mmt on teh way to (or was it from?) Bosque. I saw Greg's post from the same area and thought I would post this one as my first landscape on NSN.

Let's see... I think I took this with the EOS 3, the Sigma 15-30 on Provia 100f, but it could have been Velvia. No clue what the exposures times were, but probably either evaluative or +1/3. 81B gel warming filter, a permanent part of that lens. Hand held, lying on my belly on the ground a few inches away from the yucca trying to keep the sand out of the camera. Minutes earlier the whole are was overcast.

Nice one. The sand and sky work well together IMO and great light. The leaves might be just a tad soft though.

I really like the movement expressed by both the sand and the clouds. And of course the light is sublime.

Hi Lillian,
I don't wander far from the Birds forum, but I sure am glad I did this time. This is fantastic - exposure, composition, etc.

Very strong lines, Lillian! Love the warm glow and the effect of wide angle on the sky. Excellent!
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

This is a wonderful shot. I was there and you really worked and it shows. The actual photo is a bit lighter than as posted. IT still is wonderful and I want to go back when time allows. Per your request, I will not post the image of you eating sand to get this image.

Lillian, this is beautiful! The warm light really shows the ripples in the sand that complement the cloud patterns so well.

Excellent composition Lillian. The play of light and shadows in the sand is great.

Except that it's coming off a bit dark on my monitor, I really like this and feel the patterns in the sand and placement of the plants are good choices. A very good selection!

Lillian,

Awesome shot. I especially like the lines in the sand and, of course, the fantastic light.
