This was part of that incredible sunset we got while on the STL Osprey workshop back in June out on the north fork of Long Island. It looked like it was going to be a wonderful sunset so we packed up from the beach area and went back to this nest site on the road. It was everything Chas said it would be. We all learned more about visualizing what you want in your shot and trying to make it happen! It was an incredible experience and one I'll try to repeat again in the future!! Thanks Chas!!

Canon D60, 19-35 vivitar Series I wide angle, 1/200, F 5.6, ISO 400, @ 35mm, no flash. Some PS work.

That sky is so nice you don't want to crop it but I think it will work better with most of the blue part cropped out.

Very nice. Is that a natural tree that the Osprey nest is in or is it man made?

Gail,
Very nice. I agree with Dan that cropping the blue sky makes the image much more dramatic. Nice job capturing the osprey just as it was landing.

Nicely done, Gail...the Osprey on the tree looks like a statue.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Nicely done - and great timing to get the osprey with wings out. I agree on the suggested crop at the top.

"Is that a natural tree that the Osprey nest is in or is it man made?" Weirdest looking tree I've ever seen!

Very nice. I, too, agree with the suggested crop. I definitely think it looks better with most of the blue area omitted.

I really like this one - excellent colors and a nice environment shot. The crop suggestion is a good one. I see lots of sharpening/JPEG artifacts.

I think you got the peak of the action! Pretty colors and do think the crop pulls the image together. The crop Q is always a hard one for me.

Gail,

Well done, great colors but as the others have said, a little off the top, please.
