This was taken two years ago at White Sands National Monument in New Mexico. E.J. and I spent a day and a half at this incredible place and had a lot of fun. I took the opportunity to capture the sand dunes while E.J. worked his magic with them. I wish the footprints weren't there but this wasn't really a planned shot as so they are.....

The texture and soft colors are incredible. Wish I'd stopped on the way back from AZ. How does one avoid getting gypsum in and on everything??

sand as white as snow???....what a concept ...I could really like that. :D

The vastness and quietness of this special area must be grand.

I really like this. Footprints, photographer and all. The pink and blue color on the horizon is great.

I remember this well, shortly after this was taken I got my favorite desert photograph. I liked this shot so much, I have had it on my bio page for nearly two years.

Very nice - even without E.J. :) Footprints don't bother me at all - in fact, with a human in the shot, I would be bothered without the footprints (even at the top of the dune).

Great shot, Greg! Human element used well.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Wonderful shot with a human element to it. I like how it gives you a sense of scale to have E.J. there. He looks like he's calculating hyperfocal distance...

Great shot! Without E.J., judging the scale of the vast dunes would be impossible. The ripples in the dunes are really neat.
