I can post again! South Bend had 90MPH wind and a possible tornado yesterday, leaving much of the city without power. It's finally back on this afternoon...

Here's a U.P. "companion" to Ken's Pete's Lake image :) It should serve as temptation for those who might like to visit the U.P. in October. Everyone is welcome! This is from last fall's meeting, shot early one morning at Red Jack Lake. Color was late through most of the U.P., but this lake and a few of its neighbors were coming along nicely.

Lovely. I can't wait for fall. The late summer is the most boring time photographically in the bay area.

Brilliant indeed! Wish I could make it down this year but looks like it will have to wait a while longer :(

Beautiful colors and reflections Danny. Appears to have a slight tilt, nothing major and you probably knew that. Call me crazy 8) but i really like this cropped from the top to just above the small yellow tree just right of center. I think it helps to seperate and to point out that one single tree with the rest of the colors and reflections nicely. My 2 pennys anyway Danny. Nice as is for sure!!

Danny,
Very nice. Love how the colors seem to be in bands.
Thanks for sharing.

Great colors and reflection, Danny! Hoping the fall here in the Washington area will be nice this year.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap, but memories are priceless.

Danny,

I was going to say it needs to be rotated CCW a bit, at least that is what it looks like, but I think it is an optical illusion since the trees are leaning. Very neat.

Lovely Danny! Wish I could ever witness such colors... We only have brown and yellow foilage... The horizon is a bit tilted to the right though.

Fall is here, but strong gusting winds for the last three days are destorying every hope of getting some jucy images. Guess I'll have to go for close-ups this year.

Thanks for all the comments :) I do want to mention, though, that it's not tilted...that's an illusion caused by the trees and a shoreline that wasn't perpendicular to the place where I stood. If you check one point of a tree and the exact corresponding point of its reflection, you'll see that the two points are exactly above/below one another. I'm very much a stickler for non-tilted horizons and always use bubble levels!

Wonderful colors and reflection. (Tried for some pictures during the storm but without success.)
