At first I wasn't sure about this image but the more I look at it the more I like it. I didn't shoot in color here because the sun was shining down in some areas and I knew a BW would possibly hold up. Did some dodging and burning in PS as well.

Oh this is wonderful. I love the perspective and the line formed by the stream, leading up to the top of the falls. Very effective in b/w.

Thanks, I wasn't expecting much when I shot this but am very surprised by how well it turned out. I composed this intending to shoot color but the sun kept popping in. I gave up with color and "snapped" a BW.

I love all of the detail in the BW negative that can be brought out.

I never thought about b/w as a "solution" to sun in a situation like this- will have to remember it and maybe try converting some of my falls where the sun peeked through!

I think this makes a much stronger presentation as is than if were done in color. The mono alows the viewer to take in the lines, perspective and texture without chromatic distraction.

Great depth to this shot. I agree with Harvey's comment, particularly knowing that the overall scene was fairly monochromatic to begin with: the b/w treatment enhances the lines and texture endemic to this shot. Very well done.

Very well crafted image. After a few minutes I still am looking at this one. Lots of great detail.

Very nice, Ken. I'd love to see this as a large print.
