Kenai Fjords Glacier (Out of Seward-Alaska)

From what we were told, ten years from now this Glacier might be gone for good, they are retreating at an accelerated pace, many contradicting opinions claim to know as to the "why" this is happening, In reality now ones know for sure, the only thing for certain is that they are melting away at a prodigious rate!!, This image does not do justice to this place!!
This was taken in the Kenai Fjords near the Northernmost Glacier , about 60 nautical miles by boat, outside of Seward, Alaska
D1x, Lens=28-70mm afs-f/2.9-2.8, FL=28mm, Incident metering, 1/500sec SS-f/14, EV-0.3, ISO-200, Auto WB.
Any and all comments welcome!!!

Very nice Alex - I like the flow of the glacier and the lines created by the mountains, it is even being matched by the wake from the boat.

After I return from my extended travels and get caught up in the office, I will post an image of this glacier today for comparison. This one hasn’t changed as much as many in KFNP.

This image does not do justice to this place!!
Very intresting image.
I am sure that as you say the actual mountains, glacier and mixture of glacier water is more than what the image does tell....but as a documental image a very important one Alex. ...Just think if the predictions are right the image will have to be a in story book that Grandpa reads to his grand kids.

The difference in the two mountains is striking as well the right one looks more marble content than the others.

Lovely shot! Looks like the Alaska I remember. I'm probably in the minority here but I think I'd crop off or clone out the small portion of wave in LLC because it draws my eye away from glacier.

Chas, It will not only be a good excuse to come to Alaska, but it will be also a good excuse to throw my camera away for good!!! It will just be unbearable to watch your images from there!! And I am not kidding!!

When I was in Glacier Bay, the ranger explained that the glaciers had retreated , what was it 60 miles? m, in about 100 years.
He always started his talks with "following thepath of the retreating glaciers, >>>>>
This is a good image of that description and your comments make it more alive.
