This is an older image that I just recently reworked. I am interested to hear any and all opinions on it.

Very beautiful warm light and I very much like the soft focus. I'd be tempted to crop a bit more off the left side of the frame so as to move the lighted vegetation more into the left side but that's just my particular taste.

Ahh yes :D looks like you shot this with vaseline on your lens/u,v filter or something? Or did you do this in PShop? Looks very dream like, love it!!

No vaseline ... strictly PS. There is a tutorial on Luminous Landscape that describes using a Gaussian Overlay. I have been playing around with it for the last few weeks. It looks good on less than 5% of the images I have tried but occasionally it really improves them. I like it for a scene that is "dreamy" and when the normally sharp edges work against that.

Thanks for all the comments.

I like what you've done here. I'd love to see what this looks like with out the gaussian overlay.

I didn't save the file before the overlay but this is reasonably close to what it looked like.

Thanks again for the feedback. I really appreciate it.

Hey Jenny

I think I'd like this somewhere between the two .. maybe a tad less of the effect.

Getting an image horizontal from a kayak is AMAZINGLY hard .. you do very well.

I always enjoy your posts.

Cheers

This is an interesting effect, it certainly works well for this image. I like the quality of the light and the colors here. Very pretty image.

Beautiful shot, very effective technique. I like the unblurred version as well.

Jenny, Beautiful! The Gaussian overlay really works well here. I think some thing in the foreground might help a tiny bit.
