Prairie land is basically flat with so low vegetation and an occassinal tree. Not excactly spectacular landscape material. Converted to duotone for effect.

Harvey, did you do any type of work on this other than the duotone prior to posting, because on this monitor here at home it has a wonderful and appealing "3D" type feel to it!
Love the color, and again the depth is very nice. Nice comp, detail, and the birds help add a bit of punch to it.

I sure like it!!! :)

how unfortunate to think that flat prairie land is not spectacular landscape material. in as much as "majestic" mountains are ubiquitous and all too familiar, this image is a welcome respite.

this image is one of the more spectacularly understated landscapes that i have seen on NSN. probably didn't even need the "effect" of duotone to be successful. i imagine the color version had an understated elegence and simplicity as well. curious to see it.

There are many ways to slice the pixels and too cooks them as well, how they are presented is in reality your creative side and the visualization of a scene, In this case your brain selected the meaty side of what the image offered and you have done very well IMO!!! Congrats!! 8)

I wouldn't go so far as to say that you made lemonade out of lemons, but you certainly made the most out of the original image. The cropped composition and toning are a winning combination.

Harvey, your duotone work on this amazing. I really, really like the effect. I'll bet this makes a gorgeous print.

I've gone back to look at it a couple more times and it just keeps growing on me.

Great insight with the crop and change to dutone

I don't know if this tree ever turns coulour in fall but I would drive by every week to see different light and changes of season. With the crop you have a great frame set so now can possibly move in for full frame.

good looking :D

Unfortunately in Florida there's no changing of the leaves. Our climate down here is sub tropical. The good news is that you don't have to buy winter clothing :)
