Fall Foliage zoom-blur, Umberton, VT This is not a digitally created image. It is the results of experimentation. This is what came out of the camera with only simpe levels adjustments and several doses of sharpening to create the oil-painting look. While visiting Vermont I found myself playing around with unconventional techniques, such as shooting reflections and doing zoom blurs like this one (which is actually both). Shooting at a small aperture and low ISO I managed enough shutter speed for a smooth, even zoom effect. I like how I captured the water sharply and blurred everything else. I did do heavy sharpening because I found it to make the image appear to rise off the screen resembling, to me at least, that of thick oil paint on canvas. I did crop for composition of course. Please tell me what you think. Do you hate it, like it or??.... EOS 1D, EF 70-200/2.8L IS, 1 sec @ f32, ISO 100. Greg Downing
