![]() Nikon D7500 | Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 ISO 800 | 18mm | 4 sec. | f2.8 Image captured at a near by island, approx. 7.5 kilometers from town. Getting to the destination included driving snowmobile on the frozen Hudson Bay for roughly 20-30 minutes. The abstract formations of ice caused by the constant shifting of tides along the frozen shores, shaping these pressure ridges throughout the winter. Nunavut is a territory in Canada with a low population density that result in next to no industrial infrastructure. That also translates to having some of the clearest skies in the world with no smog or light pollution. The territory does have a harsh climate where average temperatures in the months of January and February can be below -30°C. Although the environment can be challenging, it does offer some unique photographic opportunities such as this. |
