I spent some time shooting at Travertine Hotsprings in Bridgeport, CA, when the clouds over the Sierra Nevada started to become active. I found that in combination with the colorfull vegetation in the foreground to make an interesting composition.

Zeiss 85mm f/1.4 @ f/5.6
A great photograph is absorbed by the eyes and stored in the heart.

Love what you are showing here Jens.  A magical scene.  As a by thought, I have that 85 1.4 Zeiss too and intend to keep.  A beautiful image with a great deal to enjoy.

The scene on its own is very nice but the thing that sets it apart for me is the cool light in the upper half combined with the warmer light on the vegetation on the lower half. Gives it a dramatic look, especially when clicked for a larger view.

A lovely image, Jens. As others have stated, nice contrast between the cool and warm tones.

I'm late to the party! Agree with former comments- really beautiful contrast of elements. Superb!
