Although this looks like an image taken in Spring it was actually taken in December a few years ago once all the leaves were down. As I was driving a country road I saw the mossy rocks and took a few images from the road, but decided it would be best to go down the embankment for a lower angle.  I was only wearing sneakers but decided to go out in the creek to get the shot I wanted as the forecast was for snow the next day. I took a few shots while my toes felt like they were going numb, lol,  and now wish I had a bit more DOF for the near rocks. I've gone back on several occasions in subsequent years but as is normally the case, it's never looked the same.

Wonderful capture Warren. Just makes you want to sit by it and listen to the water flow over the rocks. Love it!

A superb shot, very nice atmosphere of calm and freshness, I love those rocks covered with green moss.

Nice woodland stream. Compositionally, cropping just below the cross branches strengthens and focuses the composition in my opinion :)

Pretty, esp with the colorful mossy rocks.
Agree regarding the crop suggestion

I felt exactly the same when I opened this lovely scene, Warren!  I know what you mean about capturing a moment, and it never being quite the same again. :)

Love the mossy rocks- worth the cold toes for this shot! There's a nice rhythm to the flowing stream too. So peaceful...before the storm...:)
