This was taken in 2011, but I've always liked it. Ruffed Grouse used to frequent our land and we'd often see their tracks and wing prints in the snow. We have fewer Grouse now, and less snow, but I like this reminder of the beauty of the land where I live. And I look at those tracks with a thought for the difficult journey we are all taking in these times. They give me hope that we will find a path to beauty and serenity in the near future.
So here's hoping for a happier and healthier New Year for all.

Lovely image Cindy,
pity about the decreasing Grouse numbers...and reduced snowfall...sad and disconcerting.
I really like your allegorical interpretation - here's hoping to brighter days ahead ;)

I've always liked shots such as this as it shows the subject's mode of survival. Beautiful lighting in this one leads one to follow the footprints.

It went thataway!! I love the content and composition in this beautiful frame, Cindy - Brilliant idea to capture this when you spotted the tracks and the end result is a beauty.
