Due to their prominence in the night sky, they are known by many names in different cultures, from the Maori to the Greeks. The Japanese call it "Subaru," as in the vehicle, and the symbol on the car represents this object.
We only see a few of the hundreds involved in the cluster with the naked eye, but it's a relatively easy night sky object to image with a tracker.
The rich blue of the nebulae surrounding the stars is due to reflected light from the nearby stars. It's one object that a modified camera is not necessary to capture adequately.
Unmodded Canon 6D, 190mm Mak-Newtonian telescope, I forget how many images were stacked, but I processed around 3-4 hours of exposure time in Pixinsight and Photoshop.

So that's what a closer up view looks like. This is in all my Milky Way pictures - so cool to see it like this. Another outstanding shot.

My new favorite! And that would be a hard choice! I just love the blues and the luminous shapes. I'm trying to see the Subaru symbol on there- I sort of see it. Just wonder-full!
