A couple of weeks ago I drove up to the Adirondacks in the early AM to check on some favorite birding spots.  It was cold, calm and foggy near lakes and ponds as the sun was just rising. As the rising sun was just beginning to hit this small island, but before hitting the frosty mainland behind it, I went down an embankment hoping to catch the first light of the day.

Really a beautiful frozen landscape, I love how the light floods the trees in the foreground with warm tones.

A very compelling shot that almost looks like it is fading from color to monochrome.

That was the sense I had when viewing the scene live. It seemed very unusual and was set in motion by the lifting mist/fog creating heavy frost and the first warm light hitting the foreground island.

The light hitting the spruce is not only perfectly positioned, but it is also magical...giving this image a dream like quality!
Congrats!
