Nikon D810, Zeiss 25 mm F2.0
ISO 200, 1/100s,  F20.0, Tripod

This Cardinal Flower growing along the Sacandaga River seemed isolated as I didn't see another one for at least a quarter of a mile in either direction.
This probably was a perfect landscape image for stacking but I did a panoramic of which this is a cropped version. I'm not proficient enough then, or now to do both in one image, lol.

yes, shows beautifully against the darker surround.

Technically, I find that the flower tends to get somewhat lost against the rocky b/g....perhaps getting a bit lower so that the entire red bloom shows against the green b/g....or getting slightly closer ,focussing on the bloom and using a larger aperture to help blur the b/g somewhat...or a combination of both.

Also, I be tempted to crop that pesky branch that intrudes in the top right.

Still...a nice find.

I remember seeing these striking flowers along a brook. Wonderful how you featured it here as a wonderful accent to the scene.
