I can't even comprehend how this type of image is created but I know it must take technical skill and patience. Awesome image.

Thanks everyone..
ADKshooter, this is not that hard, a $700 equatorial mount set up in my backyard in downtown Portland Oregon in bad skies....
My bird lens mounted as a telescope with a old camera with an Ha Filter installed.
You align, focus, start shooting and go inside and watch a movie.
Stack them all and process them.
Astro is one of the booming areas in photography, try to order a scope, a mount, accessories, all back ordered and you wait......

You make it sound easy Dan....but I know it is not easy..
It requires perseverance, patience, $, technical and processing skills....and of course willing skies.
Everything must come together, as it did here.
My hat is off to you...stunning image!

Stunning shot.  Hard to believe that something that far away, even though it is the closest galaxy to us, will collide with the Milky Way in about 4.5 billion years.  Even wilder when you think that the light you photographed so spectacularly here, was emitted 200 MILLION years ago, long before humanity even began to exist.
