This really looks like a beautiful free-style painting to me, John. Love the swirling clouds and amazing colors in the sky. I hope the smoky part is not actually a wildfire....?

We have been getting smoke from numerous wildfires that are both to the west and east of us.
Air quality advisories have been issued several times over the summer.  
Today was particularly bad again.

Love the dark rich colours in this shot.Must have been nice to be there and soak it all in.

+1.  Every time I see an unusual sky like this I think I'm fortunate to be there to see it.  Your interpretation of this sky is very well done.
