My last morning at Dolly Sods, WV called for 98% cloud cover, but I was pleasantly surprised at sunrise by a layer of fog providing a natural filter and moody conditions.

Fuji GFX100, 23mm, 1/10th, f16, ISO 640.

Gorgeous! Love the soft foggy feel that creates such a beautiful glow to the whole scene. The pink flowers are an especially nice accent.

You have captured a truly unique atmosphere. The combination of sun and mist that delicately paints this magnificent view is incredible.

That's a beauty Scott. The atmosphere is unreal!
Do you find that your medium format camera has a limited depth of field compared to full frame? Is there a need to focus stack on occasion?
Curious, as I have a colleague who sold his for that exact reason and went back to full frame.

Thanks Dean! I probably am not the right person to ask, I'm not a technical guy, and focus stack quite often as I did with my old Canon 5DSR. It seems like if you have a strong foreground your going to want to focus stack anyway with any camera. There have been times with some lenses like the GF23mm that I had a hard time on the computer telling which picture was focused where because they all were so good. I don't mind the extra work of focus stacking. I did a Google search after reading your question (a good one) and there does seem to be a known issue with depth of field. E.J. Peiker could give you a much better answer I'm sure,( in a different forum of course :) ). I also gave up on graduated neutral density filters and prefer to use HDR methods. I love the camera and the quality of the images I get!
