Wave - Victoria Bay

Canon 80D; Tamron 150 - 600 lens
f/7.1; 1/4000; ISO-400
Taken at Victoria Bay, a well-known surfing spot near the town of George in the Southern Cape, South Africa.  I was photographing surfers riding the point break when I saw this wave beginning to break on the opposite side of the bay.  The photograph had to be taken almost directly into the early morning sun.

That is some drama! I cannot imagine anyone surfing around that area. Nice control of the light considering and detail.

Fantastic wave action. I think a contrast curve adjustment takes it to the next level.

Awesome shot showing the power of the ocean. I like it in this black and white version as it puts the focus on the textures.

I agree with ADKShoter, excellent light it pt the focus on the textures that best express the power of this shot.
