M42, great Orion Nebula, the easiest deep sky object to image.
It is a gas cloud 14 light years across or beyond comprehension. Don't confuse these with the work of Scott Fairbairn, he is doing real Astro work, I am using my bird set up... Taken last night between 9 and 10:30 pm in Portland, Oregon on the sidewalk in front of my house. Astro is a fun learning curve, with a $400 tracker you can use DSLR stuff and have fun. D500, 420mm (300 f2.8 w 1.4 tc) 10 frames at 60 sec. 20 frames at 90 sec. 5 dark, 10 bias and 10 flat. PP in PixelAstroProcess, Affinity photo and Capture one. Clicking on image is a must for a good view! |
