Can't believe this image was taken 7 years ago. I was walking up this slight incline with a friend, in fairly deep crusty snow, looking for a reported Snowy Owl. As I "ran out of gas" I made the excuse that I was stopping to take this shot. My friend kept looking for the owl with no luck while I changed lenses and got this image.

Looks very much like you got the better part of the bargain Warren. Super light and composition. Love how the shadows balances the lone tree and that the clouds top off the image. A treat for our eyes.

Considering you stopped to take this so you could get your breath back, Warren - its a darned good image!

Wonderful winter scene. Beautiful clouds in the sky and the shadows on the snow. Excellent handling of the sun and the whites. I love the bright and cold feel.

Well done! I love the soft sun star and the strong shadows. And you didn't miss anything- i.e. no Snowy Owl. Great snowy scene instead. :)

The snowys have been elusive here this year as well.
You have made the best of this opportunity!

Exposure was handled well and colors look spot on.

Wow! A really impressive shot! I love the clouds, the shadow tree and the composition.
