Your larger version really does this justice- the water and sky look much better-they are important contrasting elements. A forbidding scene-looks very cold.

It took me a while to get my bearings here...at first I thought there was a reflection on the bottom.
The large version got me straightened around.
That said...I really like the larger version, crisp detail and nice colors...wishing there was a little more of that sliver of landscape on the bottom.
Pine branches in the upper left distract slightly as well

It took me several views of this to realise that wasn't water at the bottom, Mike!  An image that can completely fool this fool!  :D

I feel myself wanting just a bit more anchor on this image - just a bit more of the valley floor. With it being such a small sliver it pulls my eyes away from the main subject. Otherwise a very nice image.
