The wonderful Pian Grande of Castelluccio di Norcia
just before the earthquake that destroyed the little village.
It is a magical place that will always remain in my heart.
8.32 in the morning: the sun reveals Monte Vettore.

As soon as I arrived at the B&B, my trusty tripod abandoned me,
losing a series of small screws ...
I had to take my photos with the 105 macro freehand...

Such beautiful flowers making bands of color contrasted with the green hillside. Is it a dark cloud coming in? It looks ominous. A striking contrast to the lovely colorful foreground. Was this all destroyed in the earthquake? Sad to think of....

Thanks Ron and thanks Cynthia,  it is not a cloud,
it is the mountain still in shadow that slowly, with the rising of the sun begins to be illuminated starting from below,
the sun is behind the mountain.
The plain with the crops still exists, it is the small country of of Castelluccio di Norcia adjacent,
which in 2016 was completely destroyed by the earthquake ...  :(

A wonderful and joyous image Mary, made all the more poignant by that earthquake. Wonderful layers of colour.

Nice variety of colors and patterns. I especially like the zig-zag pattern throughout the frame from the bottom all the way to the top.

Lovely colors!
Probably better suited for the travel and culture gallery...

Thank you SantaFe and thank you John,
if you think it is more correct to move the image in travel and culture, do it as well :)
I thought that for landscapes it was fine.

Absolutely beautiful. My wish would be to have focus stacked this so that the foreground is sharp as well.
