I am not a landscape photographer so any input would be greatly appreciated.  If the image simply doesn't work, I just need to know why so I can learn!  Thanks so much!!

I'm not a landscape photographer either, Diana. But I'll take a stab at making a comment. I think the sky and clouds are wonderful-a pretty amazing sight. For my taste the darks are a little too dark-lacking in detail. Not much detail is wanted there, but perhaps a little more than the extreme dark at the very bottom and in the distant hills. (This is a "must click- more detail does show in the enlarged view. Perhaps it works after all...I don't know ). Really a matter of taste- I might change my mind if I saw more light there ,only to find it to be distracting! Probably not much help, but there you go. :).

I really like this landscape, I really appreciate the illuminated profile of the bushes in the foreground which I find right to be very dark
(it is the sunset and they are backlit) the conditions are those,
you have given a lot of space to the sky which is the interesting part of this shot, and this is perfect.
I find the effect of the clouds very nice.

Thanks so much for your comments! I can easily lighten up the foreground a bit as there is plenty of detail there. I'll work on it.

I think you have a lot to work with here if you can lighten the foreground a bit. I think compositionally cropping a bit off the top would also make it better.

Its all been said, Diana. Certainly for my tastes, more detail in the dark block of foreground would make such a difference.

I echo the thoughts about lightening up the f/g....worth reprocessing!
