Canon 10D, 17-40mm f/4 @17mm, 1/400 sec., f/8, ISO: 100.

On July 22, 2003 my brother and I hiked into Kings Canyon from the Onion Valley parking area. We spent one night at Charlotte Lake and then returned.

BTW, one cannot see Charlotte Lake in this view. It's beyond the slight rise/ridgeline past Bullfrog Lake which is the lake most distant in this image.

I thought the view from the top of the pass was spectacular and, although I tried to capture what I saw, I will never be able to render the wonder I felt after having arrived at the top.

I realize there's a short bit of the trail in the image but I'm hoping I can still post it here in the Landscape Gallery ... if not I'll not feel bad if it's moved.

It definitely comes alive in the larger version.
