Last Wednesday (August 12, 2020) I hiked in to Jeff Park on the Whitewater Trail. Said trail is the easiest - about 6 miles to my destination with a mere 1800' in elevation gain. All the elevation gain does occur in the first 4 1/2 miles which, coincidentally, were burned in a raging wildfire back in 2017. The trail was just opened last summer after having been closed for two years. The weather, although not necessarily ideal for some photography, was certainly ideal for this old hiker - low 50's to start with a little drizzle - which only lasted a few minutes - to the mid 60's on my return. It was a good hike with nice (albeit cloudy) weather around the mountain so I thoroughly enjoyed the hike. Tired after the 12 miles though. The only problem that day was my experiencing a flat tire only .8 miles down the 7 miles of gravel road from the parking area. That's another story ....
