Don't often post Landscapes and this would be why.  Love the views and being there.  Anyway, thought to share just as the light was so striking.  BG is the Cairngorms...

Scottish Cairngorms in late evening, late summer light.  Took the with a 300 2.8 as wanted to compress the layers to show the effect of light on them.  Fences a pain, but hey/ho, 1st world problems.....

techs were 300 F2.8 at 1/320 F4 at ISO 200.  AWB.  (always leave my camera on AWB and adjust when processing to suit image presentation).

Please feel free to view uncompressed.  Thanks for looking and hope all safe.

The warm evening lighting is beautiful, Dave. Perhaps emphasized by the mountains in the background. Well done!

Thanks Ron.  Appreciated.  Have already processed one version without that fencing, but imv, preferred the original to be shown.

Used the patch tool.

Lovely light here David!
I can imagine that it was indeed a fleeting moment...good timing.

I prefer the one without the human element....more suitable to this forum

Thank you John and Ron.  Appreciate your thoughts.  Lovely place Scotland.  Often can see virtually all four seasons of the weather in a day.

Gorgeous light! Such drama in the sky and brilliance in the trees.

Lovely sight- such amazing contrasts! Don't mind the fences- they sort of balance the picture-give it a more graphic design. (But should probably be in T&C...). : )

   Suspect you are on the money there, Cindy and John.   Too many fences for pure landscapes, but hey ho... Oddly, I prefer the fences too as it's more in keeping with modern Scotland.  (Like the deer fencing in the bg).

Had taken the family and rented a holiday cottage in the middle of nowhere and when that light came, you couldn't see me for the  dust.
