Love this but the fact that the moon is really high contrast without any hint of atmospheric haze and the mountain is not gives away that the moon was cut and pasted into the shot. There's also a a halo around all of the trees.

I'm certainly not adept at making composites and my feeling was that the image looked a little fakey. The full sky with the moon is a separtate image by itself and was combined with the mountain view exposure in PS. I'm not sure how else this image could have been made as it was completely dark when the moon rose above the mountain, at least to the sensor when the moon was exposed correctly. Shasta was a 30 second exposure made maybe 30 minutes before. I wish I was better technically because I think the image has some potential. Thanks for the review of it.
