Cerro Torre - Argentina/Chile
D810, 80-400mm @ 290mm, ISO 200, f/7.1, 6s
After sunset in Patagonia's famous winds, the moist wind hits the windward side of the mountain causing it to compress and form clouds.  I'm standing in Argentina and everything in front of the pinnacle of the mountain is in Argentina and everything behind it is in Chile.

What an amazing place! A timeless capture of these stunning peaks and all the more fascinating with your description of the location and what it represents.

Incredible sight! All I could think of when I saw this, was Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings", when they start to go over formidable mountains.... Carhadhras , I think. An austere beauty to be sure.
