Quinag  is an 808-m high mountain range in Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands, with an undulating series of peaks along its Y-shaped crest.

Geologically, Quinag is made of Torridonian sandstone, resting on a substrate of Lewisian gneiss. The highest peaks are capped by a thin skin of Cambrian quartzites with the gentle eastern slope of Spidean Coinich being a dip slope formed along the quartzite beds.

Quinag boasts three separate Corbett summits – Sàil Ghorm ( 776 m/2,546 ft, Sàil Gharbh, 808 m/2,651 ft and Spidean Coinich (Mossy Peak 764 m/2,506 ft.

One of the few parts of Scotland I haven't explored - yet, Peter. This looks like a lovely wild place to just 'be'.

I haven't been to this part of Scotland either and won't get there on my next visit either :( Looks like potential in the are though. As for the photo, my only wish would be shooting it a bit closer to the foreground rock which would utilize it as more of a lead-in to the mountains and also get you just a tiny bit higher revealing a bit more of the mountain on the right.

That's quite an education! Makes me want to go there- must be a fascinating place. Is that heather in the foreground?

Nice one Peter.
Agree with EJ's suggestion of using that f/g rock to anchor
