Great Ocean Road - Australia
a7R4, 16-35mm @ 17mm, ISO 100, f/13, 3.2s
After nearly a full day of torrential rains, the forecast was for clearing around sunset. I spent some time during the worst of the rains scanning the southern Victoria coast satellite imagery with an ephemeris to find a feature along the Great Ocean Road that aligned with the sunset.  I found this notch in Australia's southern shore and went there. I was rewarded with this...

I wouldn't expect any less from you, you always go that extra mile in search of your landscape views - and this paid off big time!  ( as you often do)  :)

Amazing view, perfect perspective, beautiful wave action and gorgeous sunset light!  Love it.

Really cool photo. Great composition. You must have used a compass one of the previous days at sunset in the general area - to note the angle, and use that during your search. I have searched the Lake Superior shoreline for features and look forward to exploring some of them at sunset, but they are a hike from a remote campground.

Stunning scenery...well planned.
Again though...it is that amazing f/g wave/wash that I really like here.

I was there two weeks ago, just gloom and doom no sun, rise or set. Did you take the helicopter ride to view the coast from the air?

The wave action makes it, but the whole coast has great wave action. The famous surf even at Bells Beach is just down the road.

No, I used satellite imagery with the sun angles overlayed on screen on my phone using an app called LightTrac.  This allowed me to set the time for sunset which then showed the exact angle of the sunset.  I then moved the map underneath until I found something that lined up.

Thank You E.J.  I looked up LightTrac and found a similar web based app that I have used to line up a few sunset and sunrise feature locations I already know of - on Lake Superior, based on hiking.  Now I know the date range when the angle of the sun will rise/set where I would want. :)   The website for this is: https://app.photoephemeris.com/
