There is still considerable color here in Vermont, though more subtle than a few weeks ago. I can't remember a fall season that has been so long, so warm, and so colorful.  This is a beaver pond gradually going dry as the beavers seem to be gone.

Lovely calming scene Cindy. Shame about the Beavers as they are so important to that ecosystem.

Thanks David. The beavers come and go in this place-I think they run out of food for several years but tend to return periodically. At least I hope so!

I hope they come back, this looks like a lovely peaceful area for a walk with nature in the woods, Cindy. Beavers have been reintroduced to six areas in the UK after being extinct for 400 years, and they seem to be thriving and making a valuable contribution to the land and water.

Nice fall scene. I love coming across spots like this in the woods while hiking.

Cindy, I love the pastel like colors and the reflection in the pool of water. I, too, hope the beaver come back.

Didn't say first off Cindy, but the sis a very calming scene which has a therapeutic effect and one that is good for the soul. Nicely conveyed. Be happy to walk there.

Thanks, Dave. This is near where I live and I stop there often to look for wildlife and just enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons. Yes...it is very good for the soul. So much goes on in this place-seen and unseen. Once I saw doe and her very young fawn in the water there- it was so amusing- they looked awkward...at least the fawn did! The pictures in one's mind are often the best ones!
