In Michigan's Eastern Upper Peninsula state land can have the remnants of very old homesteads.  The apple trees are the only clue left.  Here there is only one. Free for the taking - and good tasting.

I had to downsize this image so much to fit within the guidelines that it is horrible as presented.  Any suggestions appreciated.

Very colorful, Paul- a nice story. Detail isn't too bad uncompressed. Agree this would be great enlarged. Perhaps put it on Flickr or another site where it can be see in full glory, and add a link? Some people seem to do that.

With this much fine detail you have to use such high compression ratios in the JPEG creation that it almost ruins the photograph. I can certainly see the potential of the shot if you could post it without such restrictions. Members do get to post much bigger images or post similar size iamges with much less restriction on file size.

Yes, sadly this one has been hurt by the significant JPG compression.
A colorful image though...and yes, I can see those apples.
