On our way out of the polar bear area we were presented with this wonderful Sunset.  Image made with the 7D2 and 500 f4.  The long focal length pointed into the Sun with image slightly under exposed with white balance of daylight produced the great colors you see.  The wind and cold temperatures produced the blowing snow and trees which gives you a hint of the shooting conditions.  Only post processing was a slight crop from the right and a bit of high pass sharpening.  Thanks for looking.

I can feel that wind and I don't even want to know how cold it was...lol!
This is an image that puts me on that tundra just by looking at it....awesome.
Think a version with a much cooler WB would look great too.

Fantastic image Ed, very surreal ... I can hear the wind howling.

Ed, what a striking image, surreal and otherworldly, the colors in my mind say "warm," yet I can see it's quite numbing and unfriendly out there!  Also appreciate the graphic, almost abstract quality.  Superb capture.

Thank you to the editors, moderators and others for this image being chosen as an EP. I am proud to be in such good company with the other photographers who were recognized.
