Central Pacific Coast - California
a7R III, 24-70mm @ 70mm, ISO 100, f/10, 8s  (CPL + 6-stop ND)
Today I visited an area on the central California coast where the earth has cracked due to tectonic activity. This crack in the Earth was formed by the San Gregorio Fault, an off shoot of the San Andreas Fault. It has resulted in allowing the Pacific Ocean to penetrate the coastline through this crack.  After photographing this in the morning, I realized from my Ephemeris app that the sun would set almost perfectly in line with the crack so I drove back to this location for sunset.  Conditions were brutal for the CA coast, cold temps, strong wind and a wind chill of 25 degrees, not exactly what I was prepared for for a central coast visit.  I actually had to scrape ice off the car in the morning - very unusual for these parts.  Extreme care was needed to descend into this "crack" in the strong winds.

A beautiful shot. I like the use of your slow shutter and the contrasting shadow light of the sunset on the rocks is beautiful
