Ferns In The Woods - Maine
D800E, 24-70mm @ 42mm, ISO 200, f/8, 1/5s
On inclement weather days, one of my favorite things is to head into the woods with a camera, one lens with a polarizer and rain gear for me an my camera. Here is one from one such day in Maine...

There's something special about being in the woods with that aroma of damp earth and foliage! Love the varied green colour palette.

Good comp with this scene EJ. I've been in these fern & woods scenes before, and this renders it well. Lots of saturated color and dynamic comp balance.

Yes, I can smell the woods. All the layers of various greens. And I notice how the tree trunks lean...must be the wind?

Good comp by finding a nice fern clump to place between the trees.

Really nice E.J. - is this from the boardwalk near the Asticou Azalea Gardens in Acadia?
