With a good aurora show forecasted, I headed out to find an area I had been looking at on Google Earth. The spot is high up in the Selkirk Mountains of Idaho and requires a very steep and rocky hike/climb to get to. The plan was to get in to the spot an hour before sunset and hike back out after the show. It was one heck of a grind, but I made it! This is the first of many shots I have. Foreground lighting provided by the half moon.
