Lee's Ferry, AZ
Two exposures - the canyon walls create lots of shade on one side and stark light on the other.
View on the darker b/g to see more detail lost from resize.

Imposing view. I would suggest using a softer, longer gradient between sky and canyon wall, avoiding the lighter triangle. If it is soft from top to bottom the transition will not be so obvious.
