Lots of fires and smoke here, and the smoke layer was in just the right position , so got some nice color.

Haven't figured out yet how to show the progression from here, since it started and 1 o-clock and progressed DOWN.

In the meantime, here is my first image.

D800, 500mm, solar filter, tripod, 7 sequence  bracketing exposure of all images , smoke, and good luck + a very helpful husband calling out times and exposure changes I had calculated

Spectacular. It does look like the smoke gave you a nice benefit of color to the corona.

Very nice. I could have used an exposure coach too; great idea! But I got a few frames that came out ok, though nothing with this interesting color.
