Milky Way over Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge. I shot this the night after the amazing aurora show (that I slept through).  I went out hoping to maybe catch a glimpse of what I had missed the night before, but nothing. The Milky Way to the south, however, was looking spectacular. I hunted around in the dark looking for a suitable foreground (seems like a familiar tune) and settled on the clumps of grass.

Nikon 14-24 2.8

f/2.8

Stacked for focus and noise reduction.

No tractors available then Jeff?

Beautiful view of the night sky and Milky Way, and the clumps of grass do provide the anchor.  Good thinking!
