I've had a terrible run for astrophotography without a clear night since early November!

Finally the skies cleared and I was able to get a few hours in the last week to image.  The Jellyfish Nebula (IC 443) is a beautiful supernova remnant located within the constellation of Gemini.

This image was created with over 7 hours of exposures and shot through Hydrogen Alpha, Sulfur II, and Oxygen III filters.

Oh man, if I had desert skies I'd NEVER sleep.  Well, not entirely true.  I've been working on automating my setup.  I can run it all from a laptop logged into a compute stick and only have to go outside to sit and enjoy the stars.

I was thinking of you this morning as we had pancakes and maple syrup Chris!  Its pancake day over here today. :D

What a treat to open this and enjoy another amazing heavenly vision from you.  Yes, I can see jellyfish - and also human brain.  Incredible!

Oh, man, this is eye candy for sure. Glad the skies have cleared. My wife wondered what equipment you used to get this wonderful image.

Superb shot but the thumbnail for more info doesn't seem to work -- maybe an ordinary link minus the image work work better.
