Stortinden - Norway
a7R Mk II, 12mm, ISO 100, f/8, 1/20

Another shot from the absolutely spectacular first morning of shooting in the islands of Lofoten in northern Norway.  Taken with the excellent Voigtlander 12mm Heliar III lens.

Stunning scenery nicely captured.
Great comp....Like the careful placement of the reflected peak.

Stunning lights and detail, the foreground rock anchors it all!

Can the 12mm take filters?

No, you would need some sort of filter holder that doesn't allow light to get in from behind.  Something like the Lee system but I don't think they have an adapter for these lenses.  The only lens in the Voigtlander trio that takes screw on filters is the 15 mm.

Thing is E.J. I cannot find a decent picture on the web that shows how bulbous the front element is (lens hood always in the way). I was wondering if one could not insert a 58mm (or other) CPL or ND filter into the lens hood (with a thick rubber band around it of grip)? Maybe a bad idea... :)

No you can not - I tried it and it vignettes like crazy if you do that - it's 12mm full frame so it's going to be bulbous :)
