This was shot from a helicopter during a recent tour I guided in South Pantanal. This region of the Pantanal has thousands of lakes like this one. Most are freshwater with fish, plants and all, but some, for reasons yet not totally known, have an extremelly high salt content, like this one. Most life can't grow in it, except specially for cyanobacteria.
