This is another shot from the White Pocket in the Vermilion Cliffs National Monument in Arizona.  Petrified oceanic sediment along with iron oxide, mineral hematite and limonite have created a strange alien like landscape in this remote area.

iPhone SE 4.2mm f2.2 1/15s iso500  Two images median stacked and blended in PS CC to reduce noise, then smoothed the sky out in a duplicate layer with a gaussian blur, and masked.

See it larger here:  Dunescape White Pocket

Thanks for looking and any comments!

Hi Wade,

Love the textures, especially since this was made with an iPhone! If I had a nit, it would be the sky – not your fault of course, but I don't think the solid blue adds to the image. I have a whole library of shots that I would love if the sky wasn't a solid blue mass. I might be tempted to crop the sky … and given that I believe the texture is key to this image, I bet this would look amazing if you converted it to B&W. Just my two cents – thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,

Martin

Awesome.
I don't mind the sky at all...as it makes one focus on the amazing textures.
