It's taken me quite a few attempts to collect data that and to finally learn how to process mono into a color image that I was happy with.  The sun has been relatively inactive lately, but there were some nice features visible this morning despite the below average seeing in a relatively turbulent atmosphere.  This was photographed with a specialized scope that safely allows for solar viewing and imaging.

C&C Welcome.

NEVER attempt this without using the proper equipment.  You can seriously damage your eyes and your gear.

SUPER COOL!

Good warning. I was playing around on a hotel balcony with a 600 a long time ago and accidentally swept the lens onto the full-on sun. My eye hurt for a couple of weeks. Fortunately everything healed well but I had burned my retina.

Wow.  I've passed a lens across the sun before but never had that happen.  Maybe the extra long FL filling more of the frame with the sun was the perfect combo for bad news. Glad it healed well.
