I was out at Lake Blue Cypress last weekend to test my new Nikon D500 out on some of the many ospreys that are nesting here this time of year.  Along with the ospreys, the sunrises can be awesome so we got up extra early to get our pontoon boat at just the right place.  I broke out my D810 for these images, setting a bit higher iso then normal for landscapes because of boat movement and I wanted to get the osprey in flight.  I started out with a TIF, using the in camera HDR, then added a bit from Nik's HDR program.

Nikon D810
Nikon 24-85 AF-S f/3.5-4.5 G VR lens
iso 2500, f/9, 1/160, handheld

Absolutely beautiful.  Not sure the bird in the air is doing the picture any favors though only since it is in an odd position with just one wing visible.  The photo would probably be better without the bird.  But the rest of it is stunning.

Thank You EJ!  Interesting you say that about the bird.  I was thinking similar but just could not make up my mind.

Stunning scene and beautifully composed. I think the osprey is an interesting touch but I agree about the odd wing position.

Love the colors and the mood this one conveys.
As for the bird...well, yes perhaps an unfortunate position.
Seeing some light areas in between the cypress along the horizon.
